Self Motivation and “The Luke Warm Bath”

Welcome Back! If you enjoy this post, make sure you Subscribe to my Blog Updates and get them delivered straight to your email from now on!

I woke up today really pissed off. It took me a little bit to figure out WHY. The best way to describe it, is to use a bath as an analogy. Would you rather have a cold bath, a lukewarm bath, or a nice hot steamy relaxing bath?

Seems like an easy question but if you dig a little deeper it really relates to self motivation and your life. I’m sure at first glance everyone would say they would rather have the nice hot steamy relaxing bath. I would.

That’s the goal. In terms of the lifestyle, we all strive for the nice hot steamy relaxing bath. We all have a different vision of what that lifestyle would look like.

Why would I rather have a cold bath, or a hot both over the lukewarm bath? The definition of lukewarm is “moderately warm”, but another definition is“lacking conviction”

A lukewarm bath is not too cold to motivate you to get out, but not hot enough to stay in and enjoy the experience. Eventually the water gets too cold and you get out, or you decide to crank up the heat and make it warm and cozy.

The cold bath makes us want to get out. Some people are experiencing the cold bath with a loss of a job or other life situations. Maybe your spouse is working 80 hours a week in three jobs and it’s affecting your family in a negative way. These types of situations seem devastating, but are they really? Depends on how you REACT to them.bath1

The cold bath is a good thing. It makes you search for solutions. The solutions are out there. We have more power to thrive and succeed than ever before in history. The problem lies in a feeling of helplessness. When times are rough we have a hard time seeing the forest through the trees.

What if you were in a helicopter and could see the view above the trees? In other words it only takes the proper mentality to find the knowledge and the skills to turn your computer into an ATM machine.

If you don’t believe me, I can prove it. I would be happy to show you, exactly what it takes to jump out of that cold bath. It takes knowledge and skill of a few online marketing strategies, a few online marketing tools, and oh ya…you have to WORK YOUR ASS OFF!

Ok, I’m sure I just lost a few of you. But if you have the proper mentality to succeed online, you are probably still here. The good news is, if you are in it for the marathon and not the sprint, all that work pays off. And it pays off in a big way.

If you truly are in the cold bath right now, you don’t need the motivation to work your ass off. It comes naturally. It beats the alternative. It just takes faith that you are truly learning the exact right strategies to succeed online.

I can tell you that I’ve struggled for over 15 years learning the right skills. Along that path I’ve made thousands of mistakes and learned from every one of them.

If you are in a lukewarm bath right now, you have a choice to make. You can embrace the lifestyle you have and save a ton of time and money. Or you can decide to get pissed off with your current situation, get the proper online marketing tools, and learn the most effective online marketing strategies.

You see, you can’t just tip your toe and hope you will get rich. Only you can decide where you are at in life? If you have enough motivation, all you need is some skill and some knowledge. And oh ya…you need to take ACTION on that knowledge.

I recently joined forces with with what I call “My Tribe”. In addition to the knowledge, the skill, and the proper mentality for success, you need a network. That is formula for success.

Knowledge + Skill + Mentality/Heart + a Network = MASSIVE SUCCESS.

Yeah Nick,

That lukewarm bath can be a killer. So many people are stuck there and just don’t want to make the effort to add some hot water.

Really, I don’t get it. That one action can make all the difference…

Glad that you (and I) decided to crank up the heat!

I think he’s talking to me too! I’ll be doing video soon..it’s coming after my move. There’s a great camera when I land and no excuse.

Your bath story reminds me of Harbin Hot Springs where I spent a few days. They have a VERY “cold pool” and a “hot pool”. You jump from one to the other for hydrotherapy. What a challenge…cause it’s so extreme and propels you out of your comfort zone. After you realize you haven’t died, you feel FREE!

Love this post and thanks for being so honest!

Work is where it’s at. I hate lukewarm baths… had one tonight so this analogy was perfect. A lukewarm bath reminds me of the status quo.

If people aren’t happy about what’s going on, they need to turn up the heat and get moving… Thanks Nick

Great post Nick!

We have swedish word for that “lukewarm bath” kind of thing. It’s called “lagom” and is neither good nor bad.. it’s just in between. it has no good english translation though, but it’s very commonly used among swedish people in a lot of contexts :)

Keep on posting good stuff Nick!

Thanks Guys…I too have my rubber ducky ready. I have my MSU spartan ducky, and whole host of others. Something about the rubber ducky and a hot steaming bath.

Awesome, Motivating, and Inspiring Nick. Thanks for this post. It’s all about working hard, learning from what we do, and getting better as we go. Being in the “cold bath” creates opportunity for sure…the opportunity is in the challenge. No more status quo (lukewarm baths). Let’s jump out and get it done!! Thanks again for making us think!

In the physical world, perfect equilibrium is inertia. They may be okay for a rock, but if you want things to HAPPEN in your life, you need to infuse some ENERGY… you’ve gotta roll into an atom blaster. Not the most comfortable place to be, granted… but it certainly attracts attention! Thanks for the cold shower, Nick! I’ll be back for more.

would like to hop in bath haha!

But as many previous posters said.
Working hard is key to success, nothing
will just be handed to you.
