“Operation Money Suck?”

I’m listening to a copywriting training given by Perry Marshall .  He invited one of the most sought after Copy Writing experts in the online marketing industry, John Carlton, to speak on copywriting. This is not a post about copywriting although there will be one on that later. John Carlton mentioned something at the beginning of this training that rang a bell with me. Listen Up!

What is “Operation Money Suck?” and how does it affect Your Network Marketing Leadership Strategies

It’s important to understand what makes your business money and what doesn’t. This is the reason why most people fail in business. So what do I mean? If you are the person in charge of bringing money into your business, that is your number one job.

Organizing your desk for the sixth time today, fixing the copier, uploading the latest anti-virus, training, etc. None of these things are bringing you or your company any money. Determine what does make you money and have a plan daily. Close the door and work your plan. “Operation Money Suck” is sitting down and getting down to business. Whatever makes your company money is YOUR role. Putting out fires and being in reactive mode is not your job. Proactive marketing with a purpose is your job.

“Operation Money Suck” and Network Marketing

This concept is especially critical when we work from home. There are more distractions at home. In any marketing scenario, we need to understand our market better than anyone else, even better than our market understands themselves. What is our market and job in network marketing?

That depends on what method of marketing you have been taught. I like to call the traditional methods that everyone is taught in network marketing as “old school marketing.” You know what I mean. Make a list of hundred friends and family and get them to some sort of presentation. That presentation could be a hotel presentation with a few hundred others, a webpage, recorded or live tele-seminar. Some other methods are buying and contacting “real time leads” etc. You know the drill.

There is a reason why only 3% can show proven success in the MLM or network marketing circles. “Old School Marketing” takes a ton of time and violates the rule of “Operation Money Suck.” You have more than one job. Recruiting, training, follow up, not to mention the distractions of home life. This works for some people. Network marketing and MLM are great business models, but they are not the best or marketing methods. Combining the residuals from a network company with technology and few simple online marketing strategies can pay off huge!

Go Where the Fish Are Biting

The people that are making a killing network marketing these days are those that use technology to master, “Operation Money Suck.” Technology is a scary word for some people. It shouldn’t be. If you can copy and paste, (ctrl c and ctrl v) and your willing to learn new skills, it can pay you more than you can imagine.

The people who use technology online are able to have one job. Attract the exact people to them that are looking for what they have to offer. There are millions of people every month typing in search terms like “make money online”, “Work from Home”, “Best network marketing opportunity”. Your job in simple and specific when marketing your MLM online. Your one job that brings in money is simply MLM lead generation. You don’t need to train anyone. Just plug them into the things that have made you successful.
