Are you “Happy For No Reason?”

This weekend I encountered some events and thoughts that continually interfere with my happiness in life.  I decided to examine these thoughts that I have, and figure out why they keep coming up in my life.  After all, they are my thoughts and I keep attracting those events into my life.  Why try to fix or change another to fit my world?  Why not figure out what is really going on?  I decided to take some time out and be on my own for the day.  I went to the beach by myself and just hung out.  I then found myself at Barnes and Noble.  My usual routine at Barnes and Noble is to graze through the shelves, pick three to five books that catch my eye, and then sit down and dive in.

I came across “Happy for No Reason.  7 Steps to Being Happy from the inside out.” by Marci Shimoff.  I knew there was a solution to my problem and I attracted the right one at the right time.  I did this simply by:

  1. I had an INTENTION.  My intention was to be happy and let go of all the old B.S. that makes me crazy and miserable.
  2. I focused my ATTENTION on a solution.  What you put your attention on grows in life.
  3. I didn’t have any TENSION.  I let go and just relaxed.

I didn’t realize I was doing this until after I bought the book and started reading.  These steps are Marci Shimoff’s Secret Formula found on page 43 of  “Happy for No Reason”

I found the perfect solution to my problem!  I’m not saying it fixed my problem permanently overnight, but I am saying it fixed my problem for now, because I now have the ability and the ATTENTION to focus on the solution.  The secret is not to be happy TO attract the right things, events, relationships, etc.  but to be happy AND attract the right things, events, relationships, etc.  In other words, don’t manipulate the goal.  The goal is simply to be happy.

Marci Shimoff recommends, “Setting your intention and Envisioning your ideal.  Begin with, ‘I am grateful that I am…’ and complete the sentence with what happy for no reason feels like to you.”

The point is everything in the universe is either expanding or contracting.  In this book I realized that there are certain thoughts in my life and my head that are contracting me and there are other thoughts that expand my life.  Only you know what those thoughts are in your life.  I’m focusing on realizing what thoughts contract and harm my life, just to realize it and then I’m replacing those thought with expansion thoughts.  Thoughts that make me happy, that make my life better as a result.  I don’t believe it is a matter of running away from your problems.  I think it’s a matter of realizing what is harmful and finding the solution by focusing on expansion thoughts.  Thoughts of love.  A beautiful sunset.  When are you at Peace?

What are your thoughts on this?  What makes you happy?  Do you believe you attract others into your life based on who you are, how you act, and what you think?  I’m looking forward to your opinion on this matter.  The comment section below is all yours.
