Eben Pagan and Your 3 Brains

Lessons From Eben Pagan and Wake Up Productive

Stop It! Quit Fighting with Yourself!

Have you ever wondered WHY you can’t seem to break through that wall?

All Right!  Things are rolling today.  Week 3 of Eben Pagan’s Wake Up Productive has been a huge eye opener for me.  I found out some of the things that have been stopping me from success.    Eben explains that we have 3 brains.  We have a physical brain, an emotional brain, and a logical brain.  If you ever find yourself wanting something in your life and can’t quite figure out why it seems so hard to break through that wall, it is more than likely you are fighting with yourself.  You are fighting amongst your three brains.

I explained in the video above my struggle with Juju Fruits.  My physical mind reminds me almost every night that I must have juju fruits.  My emotional mind feels guilty if I eat the entire box and my logical mind tells me that I’m going to feel like crap if I eat the whole box.  The same thing happens with my business.  I physically sit down at my computer the first chance I get to implement my marketing strategies for the day.  Logically, I know that if I go through my to do list, it will get me to my goals.  Sometimes I get side tracked by my emotional brain.  My emotional brain causes friction with my other brains.  Sometimes it tells me “Why bother.   You put in all this work and where has it gotten you?  What if it doesn’t work?”

I’m a so grateful for just the knowledge of what is holding me back.  The friction between my 3 brains is the major barrier to my success.  It is the one road block that keeps me from breaking through to the next level of success.  Just awareness of this principal allows me to recognize when I have friction and take action.   Eben Pagan recommends “introducing your three brains to each other.”  This allows them to work as a team.  If you think this sounds hokey, you are not alone.  That does not mean it is not true.  This instantly made a huge difference in my daily activities.

Did this post open up an awareness of some of your own limitations.  If so, please share your comments below.  Awareness!  What a powerful tool!

Wakeup productive is one of the best courses I’ve gone through and when it comes to personal productivity and time managemen it is probably THE Best that is out there!

Everyone who wants to get rid of distractions, get twice as much done and learn to setup his/her life for success should definitely go though this!

Great post – Thinking of yourself having 3 brains or ways of reasoning really makes a lot of sense, Unfortunately the emotional side seems to win out more often than not:)

Thanks for the example of when you’re working on your tasks. I’ve been looking for more examples of conflicts. I definitely do the same as you, where thoughts come in like “is this the best thing I can be doing?”. Then that can lead to inaction or inefficiency.
