How to have a top blog site
I’m so excited about my new toy. As I’m writing this I’m listening to internet radio on my new Iphone. I downloaded a free app. Pandora internet radio. It’s like XM but it doesn’t suck. heehee. Pandora is free and you can search for your favorite artist. It then streams related artists. Did I mention it’s free.
Tip number one: How to enjoy yourself and make money blogging: Rock out with your Iphone as you write…
I digress…
Content Creation Secrets…How to have a blog stand out?
One of the best ways to make your blog stand out is to put yourself in your readers shoes. Who is your reader? What is your reader wanting to read? What do they NEED to read?
Before you figure out who your reader is, you need to really define your niche? You may not have a niche yet. You might have a niche, but really need to define it and hone in on it. What is your voice to the world?
I was listening to Brian Tracy the other day. He was talking about how successful people are able to focus on the things that they don’t want to do, so they can enjoy the things that they do want to do. I agree with that. If you pick the right niche you can have your cake and eat it too. If you want to make money blogging, it’s best to choose a niche that you enjoy speaking about.
What are you passionate about?
What if most people are not all that interested in our passion? One misconception in blogging is that you have to speak to the world. Whoever told you that lied to you.
Let’s use dentistry as a topic. I can tell you right now, that topic would bore the tears out of me. BUT if that’s your niche, I’m not your reader. I became close friends with several dental students when I lived in Denver.
Very cool people, but they loved talking about teeth. On my last visit to my dentist, I couldn’t get him to stop talking about teeth. This is your audience. If you think dentistry topics are the end all be all, you can bet there are readers out there that are waiting for your blog posts.
What is your blog about? What is your niche? Who are you speaking to?
What do I talk about?
Visualize what will be under the umbrella of your blog. What are you passionate about? What do you love learning about? Where do you excel? What can you brand yourself as an expert in?
Make your blog a unique expression of YOU! Examples: Stay @ Home Mom and Entrepreneur, Financial Guru, The Health Expert, Nutrition, Real Estate, Acting, Sports, Technology and Entrepreneurship (iPhone), Doses of Inspiration, Relationship Marketing, Counseling Expert, Personal Growth, Dentistry etc…

Add value, enlightening, inspirational, educational, community building, entertaining
Where to Find Content?
“What am I learning?” One of the most powerful things to write about is something you just learned. This is not plagiarism. It can be, if you just copy everything without giving credit. Again make the content your own voice. Write it yourself or give credit and link it back to their post or book or webpage.
Share what you just learned and maybe what it means to you. I personally am a growth and self improvement junky. I learn from people like T. Harv Eker, Eben Pagan, Brian Tracy, Jim Rohn, Anthony Robbins, etc. Eben Pagan talks about a 30 day success ritual. I have several posts on this blog regarding that.
Life’s lessons. You have more to offer than you know. Relationship Building Posts (community building): Quotes…It’s endless what you can offer your readers.
You can find content to share here: google.com/alerts, digg.com, PopURLs.com
Writing Concepts
I had a hard time writing until I learned HOW to write in 10th grade. Mrs. Johnson made it pretty simple. (That’s Terrible. I forgot my 10th grade teachers name, so I made it up)
She would always say…”Tell ‘em what you are going to tell them (Intro)… Tell ‘em (Body)… and Tell ‘em what you just told ‘em (conclusion)
I got really good at this technique while writing my all of my college papers. That’s a lie. I got good only after begging my way back into college after getting kicked out. LOL
That’s a story for another time.
Another good technique I learned from Russell Brunson (no I didn’t make that name up). He recommends the “3 S’s”…Star, Story, and Solution
Who is the star of your story? You need an attractive character. It is a good idea to make YOU the attractive character sometimes, especially if the subject matter is educational. Branding “You Inc.” is a very powerful strategy. Maybe you have a story about something that happened to you or someone else.
Call to Action
You want a call to action with your posts. A call to action builds up social proof on your blog. You must direct them, and lead them to action.
A call to action can be asking the reader to comment, retweet your post, or visit a link to a capture page or webinar. Use your imagination. “Comment or share my post…”
The content creation secrets I’ve been sharing are extremely important if you want to make money blogging. Not only that having great content is a great way to have your blog standout.
One of my favorite calls to action is using Viral Tweets
With that being said…If you found this post informative please tweet with the Viral Tweets box below.

“How To Make Money Blogging?”
I want to share with you a few blogging tips that will save you a ton of time and frustration when first getting started with your blog. It all Starts RIGHT HERE
In this video I share with you a basic ftp tutorial and the one plugin you absolutely need on your blog…
So you never have to ftp again.
When you set up your blog you are going to want hosting. How do I explain hosting? I have limited technical skills, so forgive my simplicity in this explanation. Hosting just means that your blog is YOUR own website.
You have dedicated storage for YOUR content. Many people use hosting companies to forward a pretty or “vanity domain name” to another website that is hosted by someone else… Vanity domains are not what I’m referring to here.
You can get hosting from a number of places. The one that comes to mind off the top of my head is Godaddy.
I am really not a technical person. This will probably be the hardest thing you do when blogging so I recommend you use support to get this first step implemented. I have called their support so many times they know me by name.
Your Hosting Support can walk you through setting up your blog with your hosted account. While you have them on the phone make sure you ask them to help you with loading the plugin described in the video.
If you know a little bit about ftp, this video is a basic ftp tutorial on how to never have to use ftp again on your blog.
You can use free ftp software to accomplish this. I used “filezilla” for PC. If you have a MAC I have used Cyberduck (another free ftp software product) and it works great.
You will need to save a file called “one click plugin updater” to your desktop. This plugin makes it incredibly easy to install all future plugins to your blog. Unfortunately you have to ftp “one click plugin updater” to make your life easier in the future.
Plugins are AWESOME and essential if you plan to make money blogging. They make your life easier, they aid in making your blogs go viral and they “pimp out” your blog. 51 people have typed in the search engines this exact phrase TODAY…
“How to make money blogging?” Well Plugins are your SECRET WEAPON
I will be compiling a list of the plugins that I use and my tribe uses here shortly…
so be sure you subscribe to my blog updates.
If you have read this far and watched the video you know that this is a Killer Shortcut for your success.
Much appreciation for your comments and retweets…
