Attraction Marketing on the internet is one of the most powerful and free ways to advertise your small business. When it comes to purchasing power, people have more choices today than ever before. Television used to have a captured audience. Now with DVR and Tevo, people can watch whatever and whenever they want, and that includes skipping commercials. What about all the noise on the internet? Pop up ads, spam, banner ads, articles, forums, blogs, etc. People are getting really good at tuning all this noise out.
What is attraction marketing and why is it so effective?
People have more power at the end of a keyboard than ever before in history. Not only is the buying audience more savvy, but they know exactly what they want. With the search engines capabilities people can and do find exactly what they want on the internet. Google knows more about you than your parents do. You can even look in your own back yard with Google Earth. So what do people want? They want valuable information on the products and services they want to buy. The day of the used car salesman is over. I was reading yesterday the Petco is using facebook to connect with their audience. They allow people to post pictures of THEIR pets on their page. This is a good example of attraction marketing.
People are attracted to people that have similar values to them. If you are posting angry posts, you will attract angry viewers. This may not be a bad thing if you are trying to start a movement and create some noise on the internet. It is important to be yourself when using attraction marketing strategies on the internet. It is a huge mistake to go after everyone. You want a targeted audience that becomes part of your “tribe”. People with similar values become your best megaphone.

i like the idea about the petco is advertising on facebook. When you are so busy working and when you read the paper or logon to facebook/networking site its nice to see a cute little animal which could change your mood for a while.. that’s nice…
